Basic idea and concept for The Circle Resort

The idea of The Circle Resort is to create a unique holiday area with activities for the whole family. A place where you can enjoy nature, play golf, tennis, football, volleyball, fishing, sailing - unless you prefer to enjoy the holiday center’s many indoor activities, waterland, the fine restaurants, bowling, minigolf, play land or multi hall ball tracks, hockey, etc..

The landscape itself calls for the excitement and activity - a walk in the woods arouses the senses and a jog along the water keeps the active guests in shape. In other words, The Circle Resort creates the context for an active vacation for the whole family, but also creates many opportunities for recreation and relaxation - for all ages, year round.

The scenic area will also create a natural background to the holiday park’s cottages, built and placed in a way that fits into the surroundings in a harmonious and natural way, whether they’re houses in the well-tended golf course, in the forest with the enormous spruces / pines, on the cliffs or on the water.

Besides the different types of vacation houses, guests can also choose to stay overnight at The Circle Resorts spa hotel, located close to the beach park area. In the beach park area it is also possible to organize different kinds of events - the circus, concerts or other major events.

The resort also functions as a conference center and school camp, and creates the background to many alternative experiences for visitors.

Vision

Imagine an intelligent vacation house. An independent, zero emission house, where the heating is regulated by the weather outlook and the kind of sustained energy that is most economic for the season. The family’s water consumption is based on collected rainwater, re-used all the way around - from the bath to the washing machine and kitchen counter.

When speaking of the kitchen counter, it is worth to mention the waste, which is sorted for recycling at a central cleaning plant and used to include recovery of biofuels. An intelligent houses where the lights switched off and the curtains drawn when you go out, and where the alarm, curtains and sleep mode is deactivated via your mobile phone when you enter.

Whether you will spend much time outside or not, all interior materials are biodegradable to ensure optimum air quality and allergy-friendly by re-circulating indoor ventilation. This leads us back to the start of the self-sufficient holiday house, where the ventilation is at the core of efficient heat.

Imagine now a major holiday park and modern recreational areas for the whole family, designed by Scandinavia’s leading architects, who use the latest technology in resource optimization, continuous energy and intelligent buildings (intelligent housing). A pilot project is without precedent in Scandinavia - and the rest of the world - which, using the latest technology and research in a variety of areas will show a modern holiday and recreation area, and thus help to set the standard for modern building and the way we live and live on.

Oskarshamn Energy Pilot and The Circle Resort will be the world’s first holiday- and waterland based on a modern and global environmental paradigm, where the establishment of sustainable development and thus a social responsibility and a favorable economic growth in an entirely new and revolutionary way.
